Parent Education about ECCD Survey

Four countries, including Pakistan, have been selected in Asia  Pacific, for the survey on “Parent Education about Early Childhood Care and Development”. The purpose of the survey is to learn from local communities and families themselves what parenting skills training programmes exist and what needs and interests they have in order to improve their parenting skills. The survey information will be utilized for the preparation of a generic parent education guidebook along with a facilitators’handbook.

For this purpose UNESCO selected CGN-P among different organizations to conduct this survey in 12 CLCs and schools of province Punjab and Sindh. Since last 10 years CGN-P being an active social actor in Education sector, with its mission “To improve access to and quality of education at the pre and elementary level schooling in Pakistan” has been working closely with children, families and communities to bring a significant change in education system.

This survey has two goals:

  1. To learn about the parenting skills training programmes offered at Community Learning Centre (CLC).
  2. To find out what parenting knowledge, skills and practices the parents and community members already have and what more they would like to learn to improve their parenting skills.

CGN-P has engaged its professional team having rich experience on Early Childhood Education to achieve the survey goals and objectives.
