CGN-P has conducted orientation workshop for 29 education department officials of district Muzaffargarh. CGN-P has also started training of teachers of these schools. More than 400 teachers of Muzaffargarh schools have been trained. CGN-P will complete training of all teachers of 186 schools of Muzaffargarh by 10th April, 2011. Training for more than 170 teachers of 24 schools of Multan will start from 11th April and will be completed by 22nd April, 2011.
After completion of training, classroom supplies will be provided to primary classrooms of all 210 schools. The process of tendering for rehabilitation of schools is also being initiated.
The project would benefit more than 700 teachers and 60 local educational department officials in establishing Child Friendly Classrooms for Children. The main objective of the program is to contribute to the stabilization and well-being of flood affected population (IDPs) (boys and girls, women and men, minorities and persons with special needs) especially children, teachers and school management. CGN-P would like to implement its tried and tested interactive teaching & learning methodologies program in these schools to improve the learning outcomes of children by involving children families and community. CGN-P will also enhance the professional teaching skills of teachers to create a conducive physical and psychological environment for all children. Children with special needs and minor challenges would also be included in the main stream.
