CGN-P Granted first ERF Project in Multan District

2nd December 2010

CGN-P granted the first ERF Project in Multan and Muzaffargarh.

  • Pakistan Emergency Response Fund (ERF) is approved for funding by the United Nations Office For The Coordination Of Humanitarian Affairs for the Creation of Child Friendly Classrooms for Children and Adults.
  • The total time line for this project is for a period of six months.
  • More than 200 partially damaged schools will be repaired.
  • The project will benefit more than 700 teachers and 60 local educational officials in learning new skills.
  • Around 32,000 children would be the main beneficiaries in this project, in which 30% of them are female participants.
  • The important tool of project intervention is child centered, which is very productive for the student at this kind of age.
  • These centers would create awareness in the community and parents become involved and as a result they become more concerned about their children.
  • These centers will give rise to other important development indicators which benefit the community as a whole like child protection, gender equity, more health and nutritious conscious.
